We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. While the room décor is a bit dated, everything is kept in excellent condition. The rooms are spacious, and the sea view is absolutely to die for. The beautiful tile work on the reception floor really stood out as well. Joan was lovely and took great care of us during breakfast at the Avquario Restaurant. Nanjulie, Fran, and everyone else we met at the Soda Shop were incredible—especially with our daily half-and-half coffees. We also enjoyed the jumbo shrimp at the bar, and the gift shop was so lovely I couldn’t resist doing a bit of shopping. Fritz was also super helpful, and so many other staff members were wonderful, even though I didn’t catch all of their names. I would definitely recommend this place. With two pools, mini golf, chess, basketball and tennis courts, plus the most beautiful private beach—it truly feels like a postcard brought to life. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I would absolutely visit again.

this resort was fantastic. we were a family with two young kids. my toddler had so much fun in the pool, ocean, play ground, mini golf. great resort for kids and families. the location is lovely, especially being right on the beach. the rooms were huge and clean and the bed was very comfortable. this was the perfect accommodation for our family vacation. the breakfast buffet is really delicious too. would absolutely come back

From the moment we arrived, the professionalism and warmth of the staff were evident. They went above and beyond for us during our entire stay, and we felt genuinely cared for every step of the way. The decor was beautiful, the ambiance elegant, and the entire property radiated luxury and comfort. The pool area was immaculate and full of energy, adding to the overall feeling of relaxation and exuberance. Every detail felt thoughtfully curated to create a special experience. My wife and I enjoyed one of the most memorable birthdays we’ve ever celebrated, all thanks to this incredible resort and its amazing team. The people that work there are the kindest and most helpful that you could ever meet. The view from the rooms is spectacular!!! Modoline and Ramon and the breakfast people at the buffet make you feel like family!!! The views from the rooms are spectacular!! One of my favorite things to do are the hammocks. To be on a hammock on the beach is an incredible feeling.

I am absolutely in love with this hotel. It is not a commercial resort, and it truly shows in the level of care and attention you receive from the moment you arrive. We were warmly greeted, and a staff member immediately helped us with our luggage from the Uber and delivered it right to our room. We were able to check in early, which was such a relief after an early flight. I stayed with my husband and our two children, ages 5 and 6, and they had the best time. Between the pool, playground, beach, and activities throughout the property, there was always something to keep them entertained. We never had to leave the resort during our stay. All of our meals were eaten on site and were delicious. Drinks were made perfectly and you don’t need to carry a card, they charge everything to your room. Prices were fair for food and drinks. The boutique had exactly what we needed, including flip flops, and the convenience store even carried essentials like ibuprofen. The entire property was clean, smelled great, and felt very well maintained. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for our family. I truly wish I could give this place six stars. It is such a gem and made us feel genuinely appreciated as guests, which is rare to find with commercial hotels. I cannot recommend this place enough. This was our second time visiting, and we rarely repeat stays but this place makes it impossible not to come back. This year we traveled with our 20-month-old, and it truly is the perfect spot for families. The location is unbeatable: so close to the airport, yet it feels like a relaxing getaway. The hotel has everything you could possibly need cribs, mini kitchens, spacious and clean rooms, and so many thoughtful touches that make traveling with a little one stress-free. There are two great pools, tons of dining options, a private beach, and endless activities like mini golf, a playground, and more. Every member of the staff is incredibly friendly, patient, and genuinely wants to make your stay easy and enjoyable. The drinks are strong, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is perfect for both relaxation and family fun. A special shoutout to our server Regi, who handled our chaotic table with total grace and kindness. We will definitely be coming back!

I wanted to leave this review to shout out the exceptional service we receive at Lago Mar by everyone, but particularly Janae in reservations. We love Lago Mar and have been going annually since I was a child. It's a beautiful, well-located property with wonderful facilities. This year, we have had a lot of trouble flying down due to weather and flight cancellations, and Janae went above and beyond to help us come to a resolution. She deserves ALL of the props!
